Xbox Live Weekend

Yesterday I stumbled upon a smidge of a financial issue which led me to sell my favorite video games...And that was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I got a decent amount of money from them, but I really believe they are worth more than that. I'll eventually get those games back, but for right now, they're on my "to-buy" shelf when I have the money.

Anyways, happier stuff, no? Like this weekend was Free Xbox Live Gold Weekend. Let me rephrase that.

FREE XBOX LIVE GOLD WEEKEND.

That was the best comfort gift I have ever gotten! Oh, besides the heartfelt note I got last night, but I was on a roll! I played on MP like craaaaaaaaazy and had an awesome time playing Online and challenging other people. Ok, maybe I hesitated a little bit at first because I haven't played in a while, but it was all fun in the end. What games did I play? Well here goes the list AND--

First off, let me say I kind of dislike playing with random players on Borderlands because: 1) When you join a game, the players are scattered EVERYWHERE. Let's say you're in the Arid Nexus -- Badlands. Player one is the main character, they're the ones who want to resume the story so they decide to complete mission objectives. Player two is the lone wolf, they're doing their own thing and they're just killing random enemies at the corners of the map. Player three is "idle" player, basically the one who does nothing and lets other players kill enemies so they (player 3) can level up. And then there's player 4, the one who doesn't know what to do and gets stuck fighting Saturn.

And dies plenty of times. And losing almost all of their money.

I am not referring myself.

Second reason why I dislike playing with random players on Borderlands is because they "boot loot" you (I completely made up that term). Say you're fighting the final boss, and after a good 15-20 minutes you finally defeat it. After all that hard work, there's bound to be good loot right? Of course! But what does the host do? They kick out all of the players and collect the loot for themselves.

Douche D:

Then again, I shouldn't be carping. If people (and myself) really want to prevent this from happening, then it's time to mic up and communicate (and compromise)! But aside from all of those negative things, I still had a blast. In a game, I eventually teamed up with a player 2 since player 1 had some of player 2's trait (he was a pretty skilled Commando, is what I'm trying to say), so I ventured with player 2. I also got an achievement, the one where you defeat Donkey Mong, I didn't even realize it was him until the achievement popped up. Last but not least, I didn't feel like I was dead weight in the team! Since I made my Siren "the healer", I revived people with my Phaselock and, well, healed them by shooting at them. My class mod helped too since it has Health Reg.

NEXT GAME IS
Awww yis. I went there. Actually I only play that game because of AoN, and only if my friends wanted to play with me. AoN was great, none of the less, and I won a round! I won a rooooound! Woot! In the beginning my score was 250 and a guy already had 750. Miraculously I caught up with them (by now they had 950, just one more kill) and I won!! That player raged quit soon afterwards, but that victory was sweet. I had We Are The Champions playing in my head after that match ended. The game after that was pretty bad, though. I was third from last and I end up being the winning kill. Yep. Good times, though! Hahaha!

IMMEDIATELY AFTER MY HUMILIATING DEFEAT I PLAYED
Since I don't have Halo 4 anymore, I started playing Halo: Reach's Team SWAT. The games were pretty fun, and my team won all of the matches. But at first I was freaking out. Aside from MW3, this was a fast paced game where Spartan enemies appeared around the corner and shoot you (Sword Base). I had the usual freak outs when a Spartan appeared out of nowhere and I had several Yoinks (sorry guys!), but I did get a couple of killing sprees every now and then. Soooo fun, fun

Annnnnnd to end my gaming night, I played Happy Wars. [:
Run, clerics, ruuuuuun!

Would You Kindly Read This Post?

There was one point last year where I was very sick. I couldn't sleep at night because my head was pounding and my body was burning, I couldn't breathe as well and I couldn't cough because it hurt like hell. During that time, I played two different games until I got better. The first one was Half Life 2 (and the two episodes). To be honest, I loathed that game at first. It was probably because I couldn't compute the story in my head, and the Combine's soldiers dsjksajk (talking) was abrasive. Although, when I got better, I replayed the story and got a better understanding of it, and I appreciate the wacky (yet challenging) achievements like finding the singing vortigaunt and bringing Gnome Chompski to the space ship.

And I tell you, driving Gnome Chompski is a pain in the arse, especially with that helicopter shooting at Gnome Chompski and sending it flying how many feet away from you.

The second game I played while I was sick was Bioshock. That game was pretty amazing, even though I panicked 83% of the time -- I was afraid of using my healing and EVE hypos because I was always running short on them, haha! Speaking of which, it was brutal while playing on the hardest difficulty. I mean, sure, it wasn't that big of a deal since they had spawn points, but fighting a Big Daddy on that difficulty setting...it was frustrating. Out of all of the places to venture in, my favorite place has to be Fort Frolic. And Sander Cohen was quite a character. Everything about Fort Frolic is awesome.

Also, this is awesome.

CoD Championship Finals/ Suspension

Alrighty. It's been an hour since I've been watching the Call of Duty Championship Finals, and it's pretty intense! I mean, I just started watching this whole entire shindig today, but it is very, VERY intense. So far, my highlight has to be CTF on Raid, when the Fariko team caught the flag with a winning dive. If it weren't for that team mate watching the corner, I believe Fariko wouldn't have captured the flag. The shotgun spree was also pretty epic when they were playing Hardpoint on Hijacked.

Oh! And you know how they have those live tweets on the bottom of the screen? I made a Twitter account hoping to appear on the bottom of the screen, hahaha! I composed supportive tweet messages to the team as well as discussing with people about quick scoping, and apparently, my account was suspended for tweeting "unrelated messages".

What.

I've seen users tweet a plethora of unrelated messages!

In the end, I agreed and said I wouldn't do that again, but I just deactivated my account :P Screw the bull crap and 10 second fame, right? I'll just resume watching the game!

And this S&D game is crazy!

Update
The final S&D match was heart pounding! They were tied in almost every round, but Fariko Impact prevailed with a score of 6-4. Congrats to them, and incredible job Envyus! They were an amazing rival team. Especially Rambo. Gah dang, Rambo. Getting all those kills for Envyus...

Contest and Such

Stepping back from video games for a second, I entered a contest. Not really a big contest, but a contest. Contest. Thing.

On Facebook, there is this Supernatural (tv show) fan page I "liked" and they were holding a Timeline Cover Contest. What you have to do is make a timeline cover photo with the fanpage's name on it, and Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have to be in there (obviously [: ). So, I thought, Why not? I made a cover photo and submitted it to the fan page.

Annnnnd here it is!

I didn't want to over do it, so I left it plain and simple.
I'm actually quite satisfied with this cover photo, so if I don't win, I would maybe use this as my cover photo ;]

Buuuuut! Going back to video games, I've been playing a lot of Mass Effect 3.
 AND THOSE KROGANS!
I love them so much! I nearly cried for Grunt when we were in that rachni cave!

Half-Life Lawl

On Facebook, there is this page called "Videogamemes". I think they're pretty brilliant, even if there are some recycled posts from time to time. Anyways, wandered in their page a bit and stumbled on this picture....and some comments that made me laaaaawlz.

I truly believe Valve will make Half Life 3, though. They just didn't want to join the "LET'S RELEASE 3 LIEK NAO TO COMPETE WIT OUR OTHR RIVALZ!1!!1" bandwagon.

Yes, Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3, I'm talking about you.

Forge Fun 2

Welp, I had an idea for the empty space behind the buildings, well, my brother conjured up the idea and I created it: he told me to create a forest where players who were traveling by foot had an advantage with players on vehicles. Even though there are numerous buildings with several blind spots, vehicles still had the upper hand.

Vehicles have difficulty maneuvering in the forest, especially with the the trees distracting the player's view. It's a temporary safe haven for some players, since I won't be adding any ammo in there so people don't camp. Perhaps I'd put a special weapon in there. Maybe.

Also, I maaaaaaybe trolled around a bit, heh. I needed to fill up more empty space on the island, so I placed a fancy looking teleporter there. Although, when players use the teleporter, they're actually teleporting to their death.

Troll. Trololololo

I won't go into much detail yet (because I'm still thinking of a creative way for players to die), but I will surely upload a picture of it in a few days.

Oh, and I'm testing out the green screen. I'll post a picture up if I get good results.

Forge Fun

ERMERGERD Forge is painful! I admire the players who have the time and patience to make such incredible maps. I've been making my own map for, how many hours now? It looks pretty bad, though hahaha! I'm in the process of meshing building together and connecting them. Scenery, weapon placement, and more misc hootenannies will be placed after I get the buildings in place.

Here are some pictures:

Banshee docking bay. Might add more stuff to it later.

Gravity Hammer arena with buildings behind it. Gravity wall placed around arena.

Bird's Eye view of map. See all that empty space??

There's a lot of empty space behind the map, so I'll think of something to put behind it later. Maybe more buildings, and perhaps vehicles and weapon stashes. I knew I should have made some blue print before I initiated this project! It would have been muuuuuch easier, but it's alright: I think I can manage.

Garrus.

Garrus friggin' Vakarian

Total badass, total hottie.
Lawl

Always liked him since the first Mass Effect. When Mass Effect 2 rolled around, though...oh my god hahaha! I would have totally left Kaidan for Garrus!! Although, I wanted my FemShep to be a saint of some sort and be the most faithful person in the world, so I let her remain faithful to Kaidan in ME2 and resumed her relationship with him in Mass Effect 3 .

But I'm definitely going to play Mass Effect 2 again and start a relationship with Garrus after finishing Mass Effect 3. [;

Also, I told myself I wouldn't watch any footage from the Citadel DLC, but I couldn't resist.
And oh. dear. god. Hahaha!
Stahp, Garrus. Just stahp.
