ME3 Ending [Spoilers]

Hey everyone! I'm sorry that I haven't been updating that much. I was heavily focused on school and this debate I had last week. I was very anxious that I had three different dreams in one night about me screwing up while I was presenting my argument D:

Spoilers commence...Now.

Although, I got back to gaming on Saturday and completed Mass Effect 3 yesterday. The ending...hm. Well, it didn't leave me satisfied. My Effective Military Strength (EMS) was around 3,100, and I chose the Synthesis ending because I initially thought, "Hey, Anderson's path didn't work out so well, even the Illusive Man's path, so why not try out this path?" Great logic, right? It seemed like a somewhat fitting ending: Shepard dies and the galaxy is saved. You would think that they would talk about your team mates afterwards, see Earth being rebuilt, and maybe have a little memorial for Commander Shepard.

Nope. None of that.

Shepard died. You follow Joker and EDI who crashed the Normandy in this jungle-like planet, and another crew member walks out with them. After that, you see this stargazer telling the story about the galaxy long ago, as well as Shepard's story, to a child. The game ends, and Bioware thanks you for playing and whatnot. You see...it doesn't leave you satisfied at all. What the hell happened to your team mates, especially your romantic interest? How did they cope with Shepard's death, in my case Kaidan? They had a little talk before the big finale, and the outcome just left you nothing.

As a player who played through the whole entire series and who connected with the characters, the Mass Effect 3 ending left an empty void in my heart. It honestly felt that more questions were brought up than answers.

I know there are 3 different endings (at the same time different depending on how high your EMS is), so I'm going to play my last save and bump up my EMS to about 4,000 and choose the Destruction ending, just so Shepard lives. Then maybe the Control one.

AND THEN MY FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT THE EXTENDED CUT YOU CAN DOWNLOAD.
Facepalm.
